Funny, albeit a little condescending agains english Canadians.
Artists defend themselves with vigor and big productions.
The cuts are small compared to the whole of the culture budget, but it seems to have hit the nail right where it hurts.
What bugs me a bit is that this spreads a negative xenophobic idea about English Canada. This summer, artists were accusing the people in Quebec City of being xenophobic, in contrast with the openness of the urban areas like Montréal.
The artists in this video represent the general sovereignist Montreal culture, please, let me express my uneasiness with this stereotypes anglophobic caricature.

I got the tag from
blog à max:
1- What’s in your iPod?
I don’t have one.
2- What book is next to your bed these days
Currently none, but I could choose anymore my wife has. I have a lot of backtracking to do.
3- When was your last visit to the museum
Probably the Leonardo Da Vinci exhibit in Victoria BC, 2-3 years ago I think.
4- What movie will you watch over and over again all your life?
Star Wars
5- Which artist would have have wanted to be ?
I am an artist. But let’s name someone I admired. Maynard Ferguson.
6- Do you have a hidden talent?
I don’t hide much. My talents are underexploited but are for all to see I think.
7- What do you propose doing to appease the cultural milieu, facing the recent cuts in programs?
Subsidise social workers? I don’t know. To be an artist is to choose a difficult life without pay for a while and without being sure to make it. That’s why I’m a programmer and that I don’t live of my music. In that sense, why would I subsidise those who chose a different life than mine?
8- Do you have a hidden artistic talent?
I play trumpet, bass and guitar. If it was hidden for anyone, now it’s not anymore.
9- What was the most impressive show you saw?
I don’t go to many shows and those I see are not necessarily impressive. That being said, the biggest was Paul McCartney’s this summer. And I was behind the scene…
10- What shows do you turn the TV to watch?
House, Entourage, Heroes, Dexter.
11- Who is your favorite superhero?
I like Spider-Man, because he’s young, not perfect and not infaillible. For the same reasons, I like Rorsasch of the Watchmen and also Wolverine.
And I tag…
Voyou du Bayou.
