It was only a matter of time before the federal politicians get involved in the provincial election, but I didn’t expect it would come so soon in the campaign, nor did I expect that Stéphane Dion would be the first, and I certainly didn’t expect to hear what he said.
It’s no surprise to anyone that Stéphane Dion really hates the Parti Québécois. Thus he invited all the Quebec federalist disapointed in the Jean Charest Liberal government
to vote for the Green Party or the ADQ. Wow.
I’m starting to think I’m starting to like Stéphane Dion. (You can insert a small dose of sarcasm here if you wish).
Noticeable omission, Mr. Dion doesn’t seem to place any faith in the far-left pary Québec Solidaire.
Should we understand from this intervention that Stéphane Dion doesn’t appreciate that Harper and Charest are good friends, and that he tries by the manoeuver to lessen the Conservative’s power by hitting the provincial Liberals? He claims it is not the case, and that he’ll make all he can to help elect Liberals in Québec. Weird way to make friends.
As could have said Jean Chrétien: “Anything but those damn separatiss!”

Since we don’t
cut down enough trees use much paper anymore to transfert information, the bloggers Mo of
Bar Chez Mo and Émile, of
gérant d’estrade are proposing a voluntary action.
That is to write our
blog update on
paper this
Thursday, and to digitize the result for publication.
We can use a scanner or a digital camera, it doesn’t matter. The idea is to make the effort and write on a piece of paper, like when computers didn’t exist. And typewriters too, let’s say.
So that’s it, you can help spread the news throughout the blogosphere!
Read you Thursday!

While Jean Charest
is playing the scarecrow by sending an ambiguous message about the future of the federal tranferts to the province in the case where the PQ would win the elections, the PQ retaliates with a video of
their new French TV ad online which will be broadcasted soon. In it we see all the star candidates fire red bullets (or rather, blue!) on the achievements (or underachievement, that is) of Jean Charest’s Liberal government.
Charest is short on arguments and uses the old method of trying to scare electors off. That served Jean Chrétien well in the past. Are people that gullible that they would believe him? If we rely on an
analysis made by David of Antagoniste.net , nothing indicates that federal transferts have ever been affected by the election of a PQ government. So Mr. and Mme. PQ supporter, sleep tight.
Both parties are neglecting to respond to the propositions made by Mario Dumont of the ADQ, which is as a matter of fact
in a close race with the two traditionnal parties in the Quebec City region.
Mr. Dumont for the moment
is free to go and share his election platform, one issue per day, as did Stephen Harper during the last year’s elections. This formula worked pretty well for Harper who got himself a minority government.
Strategy? Foolishness by both traditional parties? I have no idea, but shouldn’t it worry them?

Why do journalists and the medias in general give more importance to a party like
Québec Solidaire, which according to the surveys barely gets 5% of the elector’s favour, whereas the
Green party gets almost the double, with 9% ?
Why did Guy A. Lepage invite
Amir Khadir instead of
Scott McKay to his Sunday evening show?
Québec Solidaire isn’t even the 4th choice of Quebecers, it’s their 5th!
