Should you be to the left, or the right, against or for the war in Iraq, there’s one thing you should be happy about with the fact Saddam was hung today: he will not rule Iraq as a tyrant again. Ever.
In my case, I say good riddance.
Some were
clearly against his hanging, for good reasons, but some people were just being plain stupid, even suggesting that Saddam should have been reinstated as the head of stat in Iraq since the country was more stable then than now. That would be like saying that Russia was better off with Staline than with Poutine. Okay, bogus comparison here hehehehe.
Anyways.
I hope the 7 virgins are there for you Saddam. Oh wait. No. How’s the VOID?

Okay, even though I didn’t get any answers to my little trivia, I’ll tell you the name of the song that plays in
my little Holidays video anyway. It’s Shamisen Boogie or Shamisen Boogie Woogie, as interpreted by Sayuri Ishikawa. The original was sung and composed by
Ichimaru, a geisha.
You can
watch ladies in kimono line dancing to this song by following this link.

Quebec City:
-15°C (5°F)
A few clouds
Feels Like -24°C (-11°F)
Now, to all who whined about the warm weather and the green Christmas, shut up now! It’s friggin’ fridgin’ cold outside!
Still think we’re victim of the global warming?
Not me.

La Jetée is this 28 minutes short film from 1962 by
Chris Marker is in fact a photomontage with narration and sound effects. It’s a sci-fi story taking place after an hypothetical World War III nuclear destruction of the world where there is experiments in time travel. The movie was an inspiration to many movie makers, and especially Terry Gilliam who borrowed from this short story to develop his own movie
12 Monkeys.
Watch it below with english narration, or watch it
here in original french.

I was tagged by
Tchendoh the music whore.
So as I understand, I have to reveal 5 facts about me you might not be aware of.
Here it goes:
- I tried to memorize my multiplication tables when I was in primary school, but failed to. Since then, I developped a strategy that allows me to do those multiplications, but to this day, I still don’t know them by heart. In fact, I know enough to be able to get around. However, I’m able to do signal analysis, matrices operations and calculus with differentials and integrals.
- I once was a tour guide for a protestant cemetary in Quebec City.
- I really, really can’t stand answering the door for pizza deliveries. Given the choice, I let my wife do it. Also, I abhor using the telephone.
- I don’t drink milk (except in my coffee) since about the age of 4. The doctor had told my mother to give me degased 7-up instead of milk because the milk was eroding my teeth enamel.
- In the same week, I got blue, then platinum blonde hair.
And like all good viral meme, I get to tag 5 other bloggers. Not easy, but here it goes:
- Saskboy
- Raymi the minx, or in her case, since she already shares much of her life on her blog: 5 things she wishes we didn’t know.
- Vanou! I know, you’re not specifically “anglo”, but I was missing one wheras I had plenty of french speaking bloggers to choose from
- Darren Barefoot
- Hisham
