Oh No! Fellow Rocketboomers like me thought that Rocketboom had taken a break for summer vacations, but it appears it has not.
Amanda Congdon, host of the Rocketboom vlog has broken up with majority co-owner and is now Unboomed!
She recorded a last message on her own blog about the situation (click on this link or on the above picture to watch and listen to it).
This is very unfortunate as it was a daily show I really enjoyed watching (most of the time).
Amanda, Rocketboom will never be the same without you. And I’m looking forward to watching your new projects.

Oh Non! Les fans Rocketboomeurs comme moi pouvaient penser que Rocketboom était en relâche pour les vacances d’été, mais il est clair maintenant que ce n’était pas le cas.
Amanda Congdon, animatrice du vlogue Rocketboom a rompu avec le co-propriétaire majoritaire et est maintenant dé-boomée!
Elle a enregistré un dernier message sur son blogue personnel au sujet de cette situation (cliquez sur ce lien ou sur l’image ci-dessus pour le voir et entendre, en anglais).
C’est vraiment très dommage car c’était une émission que j’aimais regarder quotidiennement (la plupart du temps).
Amanda, Rocketboom ne sera plus jamais le même sans toi. Et j’ai hâte de voir tes nouveaux projets.

Rocketboom’s co-owner and former parter Andrew Baron responded to Amanda’s video announcement on a Yahoo group on video blogging, claiming he learned of her departure from Rocketboom on that video. Now, that sounds fishy. Because Rocketboom has stopped broadcasting last week, so there must have been something serious going on prior to Amanda’s announcement. Then, I just found out a few minutes ago that a blogger and friend of the two at Earthlink received an email from Andrew. I retranscribe it here. Dans mon précédent billet, je vous avais informé du départ d’Amanda Congdon de Rocketboom. Le co-propriétaire de Rocketboom et ancien associé Andrew Baron a répondu au vidéo d’Amanda dans un groupe de discussion sur le video blogging sur Yahoo, et prétend qu’il a appris son départ en même temps que tout le monde en regardant ce vidéo. Ça sent pas bon. Rocketboom a cessé d’émettre la semaine passée, alors il devait bien y avoir quelque chose de sérieux qui se passait avant l’annonce d’Amanda. Puis, je viens tout juste de trouver qu’un blogueur et ami des deux chez Earthlink a reçu un courriel d’Andrew. Je le retranscrit ici. Amanda decided she was unable to stay in NYC and informed me, the Rocketboom business and the rest of the team via her videoblog post this morning that she was moving on. We wanted her to get to Hollywood to pursue her personal opportunities as soon as possible, but her demand to move this week without waiting any longer, without a justification, and without an adequate proposal for a plan for how the show itself would work, we were unable to uproot Rocketboom from NYC at this time. I certainly wish she would have decided she wanted to stay and give it a little while longer and I also wish her the best and know she will fare well. I’m nervous for the near term because this was an unexpected fork in the road, but I’m excited for the future once the new route is chosen. The stories don’t fit together. Amanda claims Andrew didn’t want her anymore on the show. Which he flat out denies. Please, both of you, just say it how it is. Not that I want to be nosy or anything, but who cares who was right or wrong? Just tell us the truth, and both of you move on. brem Les deux versions ne concordent pas. Amanda prétend qu’Andrew ne voulait plus d’elle pour l’émission. Ce qu’il nie catégoriquement. S.v.p., vous deux, dites-nous donc la vérité. Pas que l’on veuille se mêler de ce qui nous regarde pas, mais quelle importance qui a raison ou non? Dites seulement la vérité, et passez tous les deux à autre chose. brem […]
