Superman Returns: Teaser

The Superman Returns teaser video is out and available for viewing. They seem to have kept the original Superman theme by John Williams for the movie soundtrack. The teaser also features the voice of Marlon Brando as the narrator. He also plays Superman’s dad Jor-El, as he did in the older movie from 1978. They will likely use archive footage, as he passed away last year.
I’m still not convinced about the choice of actors for this movie. The only one I can really picture doing a good job is Kevin Spacey as Lex Luthor. Also, I’m a little bit ticked off by the colours of the costume. I don’t know. Too flashy blue, and too earthy burgundy. Either make it flashy all the way, or tone down both colours, don’t do an half-assed job.
The teaser doesn’t show enough to make a good judgement, so I’ll wait. For now, I’m just not “impressed” yet.
DC Comics is making its presence felt on the movie market lately. They had Batman Begins out, which was well received, but which I found a bit boring, and now Superman Returns. Also, Joss Whedon is working on Wonder Woman. However good Joss is, I don’t think Wonder Woman is a great character in itself. I mean what is the use for an invisible plane when you can see the pilot, really?
Marvel Comics is not doing nothing either. They have their Ghost Rider movie due next year, featuring Nicolas Cage, which doesn’t really make me want to watch the movie. I’m afraid Cage will do a bad job. Plus, he’s kind of wacko. Remember, he named his kid Kal-El Cage, Superman’s kryptonian name. See the connection with the topic now?
While discussion with Gog, I said to him the last comic I would like to see make the transition from paper to the silverscreen is Namor (Marvel) / Aquaman (DC). However, should this still happen, I could definitly see The Rock as the main character as suggested by some people. Totally.

No, the character I personally would like to see come to the big screen is Iron Man. Apparently, like the movie with Namor, it is supposedly schedule to be filmed in 2007, featuring Matt Dillon as Tony Stark. But like we all know, 2 years is an eternity for movie studios. I’ll keep my hopes up!

Le teaser contient aussi la voix de Marlon Brando comme narrateur. Il joue aussi le rôle de Jor-El, le père de Superman, comme il l’avait fait dans la version de 1978. Ils vont probablement devoir utiliser des vidéos d’archive car il est décédé l’an passé.
Je ne suis toujours pas convaincu du choix des acteurs pour ce film. La seule personne que je peux voir faire une bonne job c’est Kevin Spacey dans le rôle de Lex Luthor. Aussi, il faut dire que je ne suis pas très emballé par les couleurs du costume de Superman. Je ne sais pas, trop bleu pétant, trop bourgogne sombre. Selon moi il fallait soit aller pour des couleurs très brillantes, ou très sombres, mais pas faire à moitié.
Le teaser ne montre pas suffisamment de séquences pour avoir un jugement définitf, donc j’attendrait encore. Pour l’instant, disons simplement que je ne suis pas encore “impressionné”.

Ils ont sorti Batman Begins qui a été bien reçu par la critiquer, mais que j’ai personellement trouvé ennuyant, et maintenant, Superman Returns. Il y a aussi Joss Whedon qui travaille sur Wonder Woman. Mais aussi bon que soit Joss, je ne crois pas que Wonder Woman est un bon personnage en soi. Je veux dire, c’est quoi l’utilité d’un avion invisible si on peut voir le pilote?
Marvel Comics ne chôme pas non plus. Ils ont leur film du Ghost Rider prévu en sortie l’an prochain, mettant en vedette Nicolas Cage, ce qui ne me donne pas particulièrement envie de voir ce film. J’ai peur que Cage soit mauvais. En plus, il est viré crackpot. Vous vous rappellez peut-être qu’il a prénommé son fils Kal-El Cage, le nom kryptonien de Superman. Vous voyez la connexion avec le sujet maintenant?

En revanche, si ce projet s’avérait se concrétiser, je vois définitivment The Rock remplir le rôle de Namor à merveille, tel que suggéré par certaines personnes. Absolument.

Non, le personnage que j’aimerais personellement voir au cinéma c’est Iron Man. Il y a des rumeurs que tout comme le film avec Namor, il serait prévu d’être filmé en 2007 avec Matt Dillon dans le rôle de Tony Stark. Mais comme on le sait tous, 2 ans c’est une éternité pour les studios de cinéma. Je vais garder bon espoir!

novembre 24th, 2005 à 4:05 pmJ’ai vu le teaser au cinéma et ça ne m’a pas vraiment impressionné. Ça a l’air décevant, en fait. En termes de bandes-annonces, pour le moment, c’est selon moi King Kong qui vole la vedette.

Well, the new trailer is out. Although I’m still not convinced by the colours and materials of the Superman costume, I really find this trailer engaging. Visuals are great, and I could feel some sense of pride when I heard the Superman theme growing louder as the trailer would go on. A lot of actors in this movie are newcomers. So far, they seems to fit characters, so it’s a good thing. Kevin Spacy as Lex Luthor cracks me up! I love Kevin Spacey! June 30, look up in the sky… It’s a bird, it’s a plane, no! It’s Superman! Click on the picture to watch the trailer. brem J’étais un peu sceptique quand j’avais regardé la première bande-annonce du film Superman Return il y a quelques mois. Eh bien, la nouvelle bande-annonce est sortie. Bien que je ne sois toujours pas convaincu des couleurs et matériaux du costume de Superman, je trouve que la bande-annonce nous captive. L’aspect visuel est superbe, et j’ai ressenti comme un sentiment de fierté quand j’ai entendu le thème de Superman qui augmentait en volume au fur et à mesure du vidéo. Il y a beaucoup de nouveaux acteurs dans ce film. Jusqu’à maintenant, d’après ce que je peux voir, ils semblent bien s’approprier leurs rôles, c’est une bonne chose. Kevin Spacy en tant que Lex Luthor c’est assez comique! J’adore Kevin Spacey! Le 30 juin, regardez dans le ciel… C’est un oiseau, c’est un avion, non! C’est Superman!
